Schmidli Backdrops is pleased to announce a collaboration with Hubble Studios for the solo exhibition of Marco Schmidli. 

The exhibition will feature a career-spanning collection of artworks from the Artist's decades-long practice of art.  

“These are not paintings,” Marco claims, “but the results of experiments letting natural phenomena manifest themselves.” Schmidli is fascinated by the random variety of art, emerging within coherent structures.

“What you see here are not paintings, but natural phenomena. My interests lie in observing natural occurrences rather than painting a pre-meditated piece of art. 

Giving natural occurrences a voice has become a passion throughout my career as an artist. 

By creating a conceptual framework within a painting, natural phenomena manifest themselves.

I am not interested in developing a particular style. That would hinder my interest in experimentation. I would rather let the art manifest itself.

The exhibition will be on view at Hubble Studios Gallery with a reception on Friday, December 9th from 7 pm-10 pm.
